CLASSES ARE UNDERWAY!
All our Weston class sessions are underway. We thank our many volunteers who have stepped up to support the parish Faith Formation program.

LINCOLN CLASSES
CRE classes will begin at our Lincoln site on Monday, October 6 at 4:00. We apologize for the delay in opening caused by the roof repairs on St. Joseph Church.

CONFIRMATION PROGRAM
Students are reminded to be present for their second class session this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Our new Confirmation preparation students will meet with Mrs. Mahoney and our continuing students will meet with our seminarians for two important and dynamic programs. Please bring your completed course selection sheets to class. Sheets must be turned in this week.

The Confirmation Brochure and Selection Sheet have been given to each registered Confirmation student. The calendar for the year can be viewed here, or downloaded in pdf format here. Remember that the Selection Sheet must be returned on October 5, the second class for all Confirmation students.

Documents for the 2008-2009 Religious Education Program can be downloaded using the links on the left. New families should download and mail in a Registration Form. Questions: Please contact the RE Office at 781-899-8434 or 781-899-4734 and speak to Connie, Cathy or Anne Marie.

Catechists and Volunteers

See How to Become a Catechist for more information and to hear how current and former teachers have enjoyed this experience. Please call the Religious Education Office at 781-899-4734 or 781-899-8434.

Please consider volunteering for the Religious Education Program. There are many opportunities and your help will strengthen our program for our children. Please see Volunteer Ministries form for more information.

Teaching / Mentoring in the Confirmation Program: Would you like to find out about assisting in these ways? Contact Fr. Evans or Anne Marie Mahoney for more information.

Children's Liturgy of the Word: This has become a popular program in our parish. The number of children attending has increased every year. We now run the risk of not having enough adult volunteers to effectively run this program. Can you give some time to the Children's Liturgy? If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Cathy Capizzi, Religious Education Office, 781-899-4734.

See the Youth Group for more opportunities.

Service Hours are available at the Religious Education Office. Interested students should call Anne Marie or Connie at 781-899-8434 or 781-899-4734.

Grade Coordinators are needed for Grades K-6. Please contact Anne Marie at 781-899-8434 or by email.

Catechist and all volunteers of St. Julia Parish must complete VIRTUS a "Child Protection" session in order to be involved as a volunteer in this Parish. This is a one-time 2 & 1/2 hour session and does not need to be repeated. Please contact the Religious Education office for information about upcoming CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING (CAP).

What is VIRTUS training? How does it work?
Maximizing a church's role as a child-safe environment begins with making adults more aware of the ways children and adults interact with each other. The PROTECTING GOD'S CHILDREN program educates and trains adults (clergy, religious, teachers, staff, volunteers, and parents) about the dangers of abuse, the warning signs of abuse, the ways to prevent abuse, the methods of properly reporting suspicions of abuse, and responding to allegations of abuse. St. Julia Parish has a distinguished group of CAP trainers (Child Abuse Prevention) who train volunteers. The CAP trainers (parishioners) are, Nancy Dunn, Kathleen Logan-Prince and Anna Pollock.
