“Why Catholic?” Begins This Lent

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 22.  You are invited to a special program, WHY CATHOLIC?  A Journey Through the Catechism, beginning  the week of February 20.

This new series will provide an exploration, over the 6 weeks of Lent, of what it means to be Catholic – our core beliefs, spirituality and morality, based on Scripture, the Sacraments and the Catechism.   The WHY CATHOLIC?  program is being offered in many dioceses across the country as a spiritual renewal exercise, a religious education “refresher course” for adults, a wonderful way to bring our parish community closer together during Lent.

Similar to the ARISE program that was offered over the last two years in our parish, this program consists of small weekly gatherings, led by a trained parishioner, in various host homes, in the Parish Center, or in St. Joseph House.  The meetings will include time for prayer and discussion.  A special booklet will be provided with short readings and a few discussion questions to prepare each week.  Click on WHY CATHOLIC? to learn more about this program.

This is a wonderful Lenten series designed to bring our parish community closer together.  Morning and evening  groups are available as follows:

  • Mondays, 9:30 AM
  • Tuesdays, 9:30 AM, 7:00 PM
  • Wednesdays, 7:00 PM
  • Thursdays, 9:30 AM
  • Friday, 9:30 AM

Give it a try!  Groups are forming now.  Register now by email to the parish office.  Please add “Why Catholic?” in the subject line.  Indicate your preferred day and time to meet.  Or, you can call the parish office to register, at 781.899.2611.

Grow in your faith, share with your community, learn as children learn, and discover new hope…..
